Work Schedule:
* Full-time position with typical work hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Compensation and Benefits:
* Pay: Competitive salary with annual performance bonuses and regular salary increases. * Paid Time Off:
* 50-55 days each year, including:
* 26 days of annual leave * 13 days of sick leave * 11 paid Federal holidays * Possible 5-day paid absence for Continuing Medical Education (CME)
* Retirement:
* Traditional federal pension with a 5-year vesting period. * Federal 401K with up to 5% contributions by VA.
* Insurance:
* Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance programs, with many plans that you can carry into retirement.
* Licensure:
* Requires a full, unrestricted license from any US state or territory.

About the Role: As the Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) in Reno, Nevada, the incumbent will oversee and lead the PM&R department. This role involves both administrative and clinical duties, ensuring the highest standard of care for veterans while managing the operational aspects of the department. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
* Leadership and Management:
* Provide strategic and operational leadership for the PM&R department. * Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care. * Supervise and mentor PM&R staff, including physicians, therapists, and support personnel.
* Clinical Duties:
* Evaluate and treat patients with physical disabilities and impairments. * Design comprehensive rehabilitation programs tailored to individual patient needs. * Oversee the use of therapeutic modalities to improve patient outcomes. * Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Administrative Responsibilities:
* Manage the department s budget and resources efficiently. * Develop and monitor performance metrics to ensure departmental goals are met. * Foster a collaborative environment with other medical departments and services. * Represent the PM&R department in medical staff meetings and committees.
* Quality Improvement:
* Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety. * Ensure continuous professional development for the PM&R team through training and education. * Implement evidence-based practices within the department.
* Patient and Staff Safety:
* Ensure a safe working environment for staff and patients. * Adhere to all VA safety policies and guidelines. * Address patient and staff concerns promptly and professionally.
* Community and Outreach:
* Engage with the community to promote the services offered by the PM&R department. * Collaborate with external organizations and agencies to enhance rehabilitation services for veterans.

Qualifications:
