Position Overview Under general supervision, provides exceptional customer service and record keeping for individuals who have business to conduct with the Montgomery County Municipal Court. This position reports to the Assistant Chief Deputy of the Municipal Courts Division.

Summary of Job Duties ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Specific work will vary based on the assignment but will include the following types of work: Enter data into the computer system for traffic, criminal, and civil cases in an accurate and timely manner: verify the accuracy of information provided, apply Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS) information, and prepare case files for court. Complete BCI cards; transmit electronic reports; issue summonses or warrants and arrange for service; generate standard Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), Temporary Protection Order (TPO), Stalking Protection Order (SPO) and the like reports. Prepare bench warrants: enter warrant information into the computer system, update Supreme Court and cost information, deliver copies, and log information into the warrant-tracking logbook; process arrest documents; receive returned or served warrants from the serving agency; enter appropriate information into the computer system; journalize and prepare appropriate information for case files. Serve as a runner for court documents when court is in session: deliver and retrieve case files, process prisoners, fax court paperwork to appropriate agencies, and record paperwork in tracking log book. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers at the counter or over the telephone; collect and process fees and other payments; process defendants after court appearances; process paperwork based on standard procedures; balancing cash drawer for deposit or safe keeping. Process expungements; accept filings; collect and process expungement fees; notify probation of filings for purposes of background checks; set hearings; prepare necessary documents after hearings. Coordinate the availability of jury members for the court; prepare venire and issue summonses; handle requests for excusing or deferring jury duty; preparing venire documents for court personnel; check in jurors; process payments for jury service. Process initial non-compliance paperwork including preparing, recording, mailing, and filing notices; process license forfeitures, warrants, bond forfeitures, vehicle registration blocks, collections and the like. Open and distribute mail, including date and time stamping receipt and delivering the mail to the appropriate staff member for processing; process fax filings; file cases and documents in the appropriate location. Provide assistance to colleagues in the department when necessary due to scheduling, volume, or staffing requirements. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent

Seasonal Employees: Benefits include Sick Leave accrued at 4.6 hours for every eighty 80 hours in active pay status. Seasonal employees scheduled to work 40 hours during their period of employment will accrue vacation in the same manner as regular full-time employees and can use their vacation after completion of twenty-six (26) bi-weekly pay periods in active pay status. Part-time Seasonal employees (scheduled to work less than 40 hours) do not accrue vacation.

Intermittent and Temporary Employees: Long-Term Sick Leave accrual is based on hours worked.
