Job Description
In support of, and under limited supervision of the Quality Control Supervisor, the Quality Inspector II can understand and apply the principles and several of the techniques which make up the body of knowledge recognized by those who are experts in Inspection. This body of knowledge and applied technologies include but are not limited to: The use of various Inspection Tools and Equipment, Inspection Planning and Technology, Blueprint Reading, Understanding Materials and Processes, Statistical Quality Control methods, Statistics, Sampling and Sampling Plans, Quality Audit concepts and principles, Systems Test, Packaging requirements for Commercial Optics, Training techniques.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
The Inspector II has the responsibility for the action required for Assuring the quality level of the finished product, purchased materials and components are commensurate with Exotic Electro Optics requirements and customer expectations. Performing the actual physical operations of inspection, test and SPC required to provide quality control and assurance. Performing in house quality audits. Assuring the maintenance and calibration of quality information equipment and safe operating practices. Training of lower-level inspectors. Hands-on Inspection - 50%
Learns to perform the following:
Plan inspection workload to meet production requirements, interfacing with Production Control. Receiving inspection and test. In-process inspection. Final inspection and test. First article inspection. Quality records maintenance. Training lower level inspectors. Customer Return evaluation. Material Review support. Material Handling and Safety - 10%
Become familiar with the handling practices of optical components. Able to clean optical components without causing damage. Follow Company safety rules and procedures. Tools - 20%
Uses calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, hand tools, height gauges, test plates, calculators, electronic gauges, light sources, interferometers, autocollimators, personal computers and test equipment for various products. Prints & Specifications - 10%
Able to read and understand various prints, specifications, and Military Specifications. Paperwork and Recordkeeping - 10%
Able to enter data into various data bases on the computer. Follow routers and work orders. File Education & Experience
Minimum 2 years of related experience or a vocational or technical certificate without relative experience High School education Skills
Operates Laser Marker, uses calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, hand tools, height gauges, test plates, calculators, electronic gauges, light sources, interferometers, autocollimators, personal computers and test equipment for various products. Operational planning and scheduling of work load, Receiving inspection and test, In-process inspection, Final Inspection, Final test, First Article inspection, Quality records maintenance, Customer Return Evaluation, Material Review support. Skills in inspection, writing, interpersonal communications, and Statistical Methods necessary to perform the above functions, duties and responsibilities. Working Conditions

Standing, sitting, leaning, lifting 25-30 lbs and walking
Safety Requirements
