Job Description Interact with project stakeholders to understand functional and technical requirements, and document and share them with the team.
Develop, validate, publish, and maintain logical data models, with experience in physical data models.
Evaluate existing data models and physical databases for discrepancies.
Manage metadata for data models.
Develop, publish, and maintain documentation for data models.
Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Architects, Software Developers, and DBAs to meet project objectives.
Participate in Data Quality and Data Governance processes.
Enforce standards for data naming conventions to ensure consistency and reusability.
Validate business use cases for data model accuracy and completeness.
Communicate data modeling strategies and processes across teams and to senior management.
Qualifications Basic
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution; equivalent experience considered.
Minimum 4 years of experience in the IT industry.
At least 2 years of experience with Data Warehousing/BI tools.
At least 3 years of experience with Data Modeling tools.
Understanding of Data Modeling architectural principles.
Technical Skills
Experience with databases like Teradata, Netezza, or Oracle.
Proficiency in Unix environments.
Experience with industry-standard data modeling tools like Erwin.
Performance tuning experience in Data Warehousing environments.
Knowledge of Data Warehouse/Data Mart/EDW models.
Experience with dimensional and ER-model data modeling.
Knowledge of reporting and ETL tools.
Preferred Skills
Experience in both OLTP and Data Warehouse implementations.
Understanding of new technologies such as NoSQL, open-source technologies, and columnar databases.
