Overview Job Title: Software Engineer Location: Milwaukee, WI Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $80,000.00-$119,000.00 About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer with deep expertise in embedded systems development for automotive and safety-critical applications. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, drive the design and development of embedded software modules, and support the integration of complex automotive systems for EV/HEV and Micro Hybrid platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, lead reviews, and mentor less experienced engineers, ensuring delivery of high-quality and compliant software solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead the detailed design, coding, and integration of embedded software modules (application, low-level, and third-party). Participate in and conduct software design/code reviews. Ensure compliance with AUTOSAR architecture, ASPICE standards, and the Software V-Model. Perform unit, integration, and functional testing of software functions and components. Support creation and review of Software Requirement Specifications. Provide consulting and coaching to peers and junior engineers. Collaborate with customers to negotiate timing, software content, and deliverables. Manage work through Configuration Management and Issue Tracking tools. Work with cross-functional teams to define system, hardware, and control algorithms. Release completed work products and ensure process compliance. Required Skills & Qualifications 8+ years of embedded systems software development in automotive or safety-critical environments. Strong experience with high-voltage EV/HEV and/or low-voltage Micro Hybrid systems. Proficiency with Matlab, Simulink, and TargetLink (mandatory). Working knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture (desired). Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, CAPL preferred). Strong understanding of Software V-Model and ASPICE processes. Previous experience in customer interaction and negotiations on software content/timing. Excellent technical, communication, spoken, and written English skills. Preferred Experience Leadership in embedded software project execution. Proven ability to mentor and guide junior engineers. Hands-on integration with safety-critical automotive systems.
