Experience: Minimum 2 years (or equivalent on-the-job training)
About the Role We are seeking a skilled Die Repair Technician to join our 3rd Shift operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining casting and trim dies to original specifications, ensuring optimal production efficiency and product quality.
Key Responsibilities Receive job instructions and guidance from the Team Leader and/or Supervisor. Transport, clean, disassemble, repair, and reassemble casting and trim dies using lift trucks, cranes, and die cleaning equipment. Build and replace segments, cores, details, and die parts based on blueprints and technical specifications. Polish, grind, and finish die cavity surfaces using the required tools or equipment. Troubleshoot tooling issues, perform dimensional corrections, and make in-process repairs while dies are mounted on machines. Conduct welding operations as required in both the Foundry and Die Repair Department. Complete documentation including work orders, pictorials, and sign-offs accurately. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Train and mentor new employees within the department. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by supervision.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in die polishing, grinding, and tool operation. Ability to build and replace components from blueprints and technical drawings. Welding skills applicable to foundry and die repair settings. Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on quality and precision. Up to 2 years of hands-on training or equivalent experience. Associate Degree, Trade or Technical School qualification, or Journeyperson Certificate (preferred).
Preferred (Nice to Have) Tool & Die Repair Journeyman Papers (advantageous but not required).
