Instrument Technician

Location : Duluth, Georgia Experience: 2 Yrs Interview Type: Phone Interview Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Experience Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Key Responsibilities Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments, trays, and medical equipment using approved methods and sterilization techniques. Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and condition repair or remove damaged items from circulation. Assemble surgical trays and sets accurately according to preference cards and standardized lists. Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, washer-disinfectors, and ultrasonic cleaners following manufacturer and departmental guidelines. Monitor sterilization parameters and maintain accurate records for quality assurance and compliance. Package, label, and date sterile items to ensure proper identification and traceability. Store and distribute sterile and non-sterile supplies to appropriate departments in a timely manner. Adhere to infection control policies, OSHA regulations, and hospital safety standards. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring segregation of clean and contaminated areas. Participate in inventory control, ensuring adequate levels of instruments and supplies. Engage in continuing education and training to remain current with evolving sterilization technologies and best practices. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program preferred. Certification: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or equivalent certification preferred or required within 12 months of hire. Experience: 1 2 years of experience in sterile processing, instrument care, or related healthcare environment preferred. Key Skills ACLS certification .
