Position Summary The QA Tester II is responsible for end-to-end QA testing, supporting infrastructure, application development, and reporting projects. The QA Tester II is responsible for developing the test plan, executing the test plan and managing all activities in the plan to ensure that all the objectives are met and that the solution works as expected. The QA Tester II is also responsible for identifying issues and/or defects and communicating issues for resolution.
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement testing plans
- Lead the development of test strategy and test plan document for upcoming projects
- Develop test scenarios and test cases
- Identify and assess testing risks using a systematic approach. Review documentation to understand testing requirements, test environments and objectives
- Provide input to the estimation process for the testing and reporting effort
- Identify test data needs and work with appropriate teams to ensure data is available during the testing phases
- Manage defect management and defect triage process; act as the primary defect management contact on projects
- Maintain regression test suites and other test case repositories
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Work collaboratively to identify solutions and resolve variance from product/application specifications
- Advise Leaders regarding overall quality of project. Raise outstanding issues through established channels
- Work effectively as a team, supporting other team members in achieving project/ business objectives
- Conduct testing in accordance with established information security and information privacy policies and guidelines
- Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and with business units
- Communicates status proactively to the QA Lead and Project Manager
- Actively participates in all project meetings
- Coordinate testing of applications/products supported as per project plan
- Provide subject matter expertise on specific applications
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing solutions
- May be required to lead the work activities of a small team of people in support of a project
- Adhere to corporate policies
Knowledge, Skills, And Competencies
- Advanced technical QA experience
- Knowledge of best practices, procedures and software development lifecycle
- Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and associated methodologies
- Solid understanding of SQL/SQL queries and automated testing, preferred
- Ability to create test plans from business requirements or technical specifications
- Strong skills that promote and facilitate performance of project team members
- Prioritizes and uses time efficiently; develops realistic action plans
- Highly flexible and able to make quick assessments of needs and priorities
- Initiative to recognize and resolve problems
- Ability to provide accurate and thorough points-of-view
- Initiative to recognize and resolve problems
- Familiarity with Automation Testing
- Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with a variety of staff levels
- Experience communicating plans and reporting status to both team, executive management and pertinent stakeholders
- Advanced Skills in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Regular attendance is required
Required Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technology experience
- 3-5 years of Software QA testing experience of web/mobile based technologies, web services and developing testing strategies
- 3-5 years of QA testing experience in creating, managing, and executing functional testing including quality assurance methods and testing
- 3+ years of defect tracking software experience
- Experience in Agile and Scrum a plus
- Manual testing experience
Travel
- May require local and overnight travel
- May be required to drive a company or rental vehicle (failure to pass an annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background screen may result in termination of employment)
