Job Responsibility:

  • Extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding and insurance reimbursement.

  • Committed to and demonstrates excellent customer service when dealing with all types of customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Answers phones, routes calls, and takes accurate messages, demonstrating a sense of urgency relating to patients' level of distress.
  • Manages patient appointment scheduling, registers new patients, and maintains current and accurate demographic and insurance information.
  • Identifies barriers to communication and verifies insurance eligibility.
  • Checks patients in and out for visits, using ICD-10 and CPT codes accurately.
  • Posts payments accurately and according to policy, and reconciles financial data correctly and in compliance with clinic policy.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate, with one-year Technical College or certification preferred.
  • Three years' experience in a physician's office with medical billing experience may be accepted in lieu of formal training.
