Hangcha America Smart Logistics Solution Corporation (HASL) is the third directly-owned subsidiary of HANGCHAGroup in North America. Its main business includes lithium battery forklifts and automated handling equipment (AGV).
As we expand our fleet of lithium-ion (Li-ion) powered forklifts, we are seeking a skilled Forklift Repair Technician with strong electrical expertise to join our team and ensure optimal performance of our equipment.
Job Summary
The Forklift Repair Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of forklifts—with a primary focus on lithium-ion battery systems. You will leverage your electrical knowledge to troubleshoot electrical components, resolve Li-ion battery issues, and ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards.
This role requires hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to minimizing equipment downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests on forklifts (electric and Li-ion powered) to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
- Repair and maintain lithium-ion battery systems, including charging infrastructure, battery cells, wiring, and related electrical components.
- Inspect, service, and replace parts (e.g., motors, controllers, sensors, hydraulic pumps) to restore equipment functionality.
- Follow safety protocols and compliance guidelines (OSHA, local regulations) when working with electrical systems and heavy machinery.
- Document repair activities, parts used, and equipment status in our maintenance management system.
- Collaborate with the operations team to prioritize urgent repairs and schedule preventive maintenance for Li-ion forklifts.
- Provide technical support to on-site staff regarding basic forklift operation and Li-ion battery care.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED; technical certification in Automotive Technology, Electrical Repair, or Heavy Equipment Maintenance is preferred.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience repairing electric forklifts, with specialized knowledge of lithium-ion battery systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical circuits, reading wiring diagrams, and using diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, battery testers).
- Familiarity with forklift brands and their Li-ion powered models is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license; forklift operator certification (or willingness to obtain) is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills, time management, and ability to work independently or in a team.
