The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing both strategic and tactical support, addressing day-to-day business needs and delivering solutions for the business. This is a hands-on role, providing leadership to site management and local teams. Key responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, labor relations, talent and performance management, conflict resolution, change management, employee engagement and retention.

Work Schedule: Fully onsite at our manufacturing plant in Franklin, TN.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a business partner and advisor, gaining the trust of the organization in order to influence and provide effective HR processes, advice and support.
  • Responsible for Union Relations and Collective Bargaining Agreement Administration. Working with Plant Management to prepare programs to improve labor relations.
  • Partner with business and HR leaders to champion deployment of core HR processes, including compensation & benefits, employee development and performance management.
  • Effectively and proactively manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the organization and provides interpretation, recommended best practices, and ensures compliance with key legal requirements and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to draw insights, develop solutions, programs, and policies. Track within metric dashboard.
  • Implement and maintain corporate and local processes that ensure data integrity in the HRIS system. Share best practices within the organization.
  • Work with leadership team to monitor, develop and manage performance of site employees.
  • Provide interpretation, recommended best practices, and ensure compliance with key legal requirements and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee salary administration to include annual performance management and compensation processes.
  • Foster a culture where ownership of health and safety is embraced by all employees. Partnering with EH&S, utilize core Environmental, Health and Safety programs and processes to ensure compliance with safety requirements and drive a "zero incidents" culture.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or related field.
  • A minimum of five years’ progressive HR experience is required. Prior HR experience in manufacturing and/or labor relations strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility and confidence with a wide variety of employees and leaders as a trusted advisor and confidant; ability to influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of energy and initiative to tackle issues, projects, and new initiatives.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • HR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
