Job Description:

The Department of Physics at Binghamton invites applications for an up to three-year renewable, full time, Physics Lecturer position. Principal responsibilities are to teach and coordinate introductory physics courses for undergraduates. The candidate will work with staff and graduate student instructors, assist in coordinating courses, and carry out instructional goals. There is also the opportunity for summer salary through additional teaching duties during this time.

Candidates with prior experience in teaching physics, coordinating large groups, teaching large enrollment courses, facility using innovative instructional methods, and familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom, will be given preference. Candidates comfortable in a student-centered environment and committed to the

university mission

are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have a Physics Ph.D. at the time of appointment.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Physics, or a closely related field, by August 17, 2026 One or more years of experience teaching undergraduate physics courses

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with innovative teaching methods Familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom One or more years of experience as a lecturer in an introductory physics course
