Travel Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN)

Large teaching hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet designated

Unit:

5T Surgical (Med/Surg/Telemetry)

Shift:

12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Weekend Rotation:

Every other weekend

Holiday Coverage:

75% of holidays required

Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NC or compact state)

Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg and Telemetry RN experience

Proficiency with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors

Strong clinical skills in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from head/neck and GI surgeries, as well as medical overflow cases

Perform and manage trach care, chest tubes, NGTs, and various drains/tubes

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, charge nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory therapists

Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR

Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and clinical best practices
