CNC Vertical Mill Operator (CNC Programmer) Summary:
Responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC vertical mills to perform precision machining tasks in accordance with production requirements. Responsibilities
Proficient in Mastercam programming. Operates 3-axis and 4-axis machining centers. Reads blueprints using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Follows G-code and M-code programming. Inspects first-run parts and performs spot checks on subsequent pieces; documents inspection results. Pre-sets tools and selects, positions, and secures tools in appropriate holders. Sets up fixtures, initiates machine operation, and adjusts feeds, speeds, and depth of cut. Monitors machine displays and operations to detect malfunctions. Communicates effectively and works within a team environment. Operates machines to meet production targets for quantity and quality. Performs visual inspections throughout the production cycle. Multitasks between programming, setup, and quality verification. Adheres to ISO 9001 standards, safety protocols, and company policies. Wears required PPE and maintains a clean, organized work area. Performs additional duties as needed to support productivity and efficiency. Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, layouts, job orders, and related technical documentation. Understanding of product specifications including dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions (fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut). Determines setup procedures, control settings, material requirements, machining methods, and sequence of operations. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; may be waived at company discretion. Basic knowledge of manufacturing mathematics and measuring tools is preferred. Physically capable of moderately heavy lifting; strong mechanical aptitude required. Excellent attendance and a clean safety record. Employment details
