Optomi, in partnership with an industry leading enterprise is seeking a
Cloud Platform Architect
to support global cloud transformation and modernization initiatives. This individual will contribute cloud architecture expertise and serve as a strategic advisor across enterprise technology teams. The role will focus on creating and enforcing architectural standards, guiding cloud adoption strategy, and providing operational leadership in the implementation of scalable, cost-effective, and secure cloud environments. Responsibilities
Partner with technology teams to develop and align cloud strategies with execution plans, roadmaps, and governance initiatives. Drive enterprise-wide transformation by supporting cloud vision implementation, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and operational planning. Lead and execute complex architectural projects, oversee key deliverables, and provide recommendations for significant changes in cloud service adoption. Apply expert knowledge of cloud service provider platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), modern architecture frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). Communicate technical strategies and recommendations across cross-functional teams and all levels of leadership. Serve as a cloud consultant and advisor to internal teams on enablement efforts, best practices, and architecture design patterns. Assess and design high availability and disaster recovery architectures in compliance with business and technical requirements. Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in public or private cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). 6+ years of hands-on experience with automation tools, Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and version control systems (e.g., Git/GitHub). 6+ years of experience in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including deployment methodologies, QA processes, and performance optimization. 4+ years of experience interfacing with stakeholders to capture, document, and manage technical and business requirements. 4+ years designing and implementing fault-tolerant and disaster recovery cloud solutions. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; equivalent military or professional experience may be considered. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of network fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, CIFS. Experience working in matrixed teams across infrastructure, application development, and customer-facing units. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a consultative mindset. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make strategic decisions with limited oversight.
