Overview
Executive Director, Enterprise Strategy role at Stanford University. Reporting to Stanford Medicine leadership, the position focuses on developing enterprise-wide initiatives related to clinical enterprise/service lines and establishing strategic priorities translated into comprehensive strategic plans. Responsibilities
Drive key strategic initiatives from inception; scope and implement special projects to support long-term vision and short-term objectives. Lead programs requiring cross-functional engagement with staff across the organization and external stakeholders. Collaborate with institutional leadership, hospital leadership, faculty, committees, and consultants to plan and execute key initiatives and strategies. Ensure strategic planning projects align with Stanford Medicine priorities across departments and units; translate priorities into actionable plans and roadmaps with 1-, 2-, and 5-year timelines and metrics. Work with the Dean, hospital CEOs, and Stanford Medicine leadership to establish and review priorities and ensure execution across hospitals and schools. Provide analytical/strategic thinking and leadership support—conduct market research, scenario planning, forecasting; develop content such as competitive intelligence and market trend analyses; prepare documents to inform decisions. Lead data-driven decisions by researching, analyzing, and presenting information to support strategy and operations; respond to surveys and data requests; project future trends and align resources to goals. Monitor the strategic plan execution and develop performance benchmarks. Maintain current awareness of health care trends, regulations, and policies relevant to health care and academic medical centers. Contribute content for engagements with key boards and committees (e.g., SHC Board of Directors, Stanford Medicine Board of Fellows, Stanford University Board of Trustees). Build strong working relationships with chairs and institute directors as a strategic partner. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Demonstrated success in strategic leadership, planning, and change management in complex environments; healthcare strategy experience preferred. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to influence diverse stakeholders and demonstrate diplomacy. Ability to translate complex topics for various audiences; strong judgment and decision-making under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation ability, and collaboration with faculty and staff; detail-oriented with knowledge of industry standards/trends/regulatory requirements. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; high energy and results orientation. Education & Experience (required)
Bachelor’s degree and seven years of relevant experience in administrative and financial management, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (required)
Leadership and supervisory experience; planning and change management. Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills; ability to influence and solve problems. Advanced financial expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and grants/contracts administration. Analytical and problem-solving proficiency; familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills; attention to detail. Proficiency with business and management applications and databases; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Physical Requirements
