Microsoft . We are looking for an Investment Partner to join our growing team, with a particular emphasis on AI investing. M12 is Microsoft’s corporate venture capital fund; we invest in early-stage startups across AI, Cloud Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Developer Tools, and Enterprise Applications. We have funded over 100 companies, including 15 unicorns and 6 IPOs. We work with Microsoft resources, network, and expertise to grow portfolio companies. As an M12 Investment Partner, you will source, evaluate, and close deals, and collaborate with portfolio companies and Microsoft internal stakeholders to provide strategic guidance and value-added services. Every leader on our team operates as a “player / coach” – contributing as an individual while also mentoring others on the deal team. Responsibilities

Develop the investment strategy for one or more key thesis areas by performing market research and analysis, using insights from industry experts to evaluate market opportunities (long-term potential, unfulfilled needs, dynamics, and competition). Drive to completion 2-3 investments (Series A, B) per calendar year; support the investing team on additional investments. Use your industry network to drive deal sourcing and nurture executive relationships within startup and venture ecosystems, ensuring a high volume of sourcing opportunities. Identify, evaluate, and engage with companies with investment potential to generate deal flow for top-tier opportunities. Lead and conduct rigorous due diligence (financial models, exit analyses, customer/founder interviews, GTM strategy, market sizing, etc.). Create investment memos based on extensive research; drive deals to close by collaborating with cross-functional teams (legal, finance, treasury). Contribute to portfolio companies’ growth by assisting in executive recruitment, fundraising, and guiding early-stage companies through Go-To-Market and product development. Serve as board observer or director on 3+ M12 portfolio companies; establish trusted relationships with Microsoft executives and present industry trends and competitive landscapes. Coach, mentor, and potentially manage early-career investors; evangelize M12 as a thought leader in selected thesis areas via events, media, and interactions with Microsoft leadership. Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Architecture, or related field AND 6+ years in strategic consulting, investment banking, venture capital, technology ventures, product management, or related enterprise roles; or Master’s Degree in a related field AND 4+ years of similar experience; or equivalent experience. 5+ years' experience on a deal team, including sourcing and leading investments. Experience as a Board Director or Observer at a technology startup. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree + 8+ years of relevant experience or 6+ years with advanced roles; or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree in Business Administration, with emphasis in Finance, Strategy, or Consulting. 7+ years of commercial or technology business experience; 5+ years leading investment deals and 2+ years leading exits; experience sitting on 1-2 boards or as a board observer. Corporate Ventures IC5 — The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD 130,900 – 251,900 per year. Specific locales (San Francisco Bay Area, NYC) may have different ranges.
