Software Development Snr Manager at Oracle – Senior Manager in OCI for Datacenter Software Engineering. Lead a dedicated team overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure projects within OCI, aligning objectives with broader organizational goals and focusing on long-term infrastructure stability and scalability. Lead software engineering in the data center infrastructure delivery organization, applying knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks (development, debugging, or design) for software applications, operating systems, and databases per design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements. Influence decisions that affect the team and related OCI groups; contribute to the success of critical infrastructure projects and the resilience and growth of OCI’s Datacenter critical Automation initiatives. Establish clear, measurable goals for individuals and the team aligned with OCI strategy; implement processes to monitor progress, assess performance, and ensure accountability. Qualifications
A BS or MS degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in people management with a track record in managing large-scale critical services. Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, resource management, and performance optimization in a technology-driven environment. Strong decision-making abilities with experience influencing senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Background in recruiting, developing, and leading senior individual contributors and building high-performing teams. Ability to make decisions impacting the organization’s infrastructure with potential implications for revenue and long-term operational success. Experience in Datacenter/IaaS Software Engineering; strong Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, programming paradigms). Proficiency in Java or Python; experience building highly available services and service-oriented design patterns with service-to-service communication. Experience with production operations and best practices for delivering quality code in production; ability to lead engineers while solving for it. Effective communication of technical ideas verbally and in writing (proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams, presentations). Experience managing a large-scale critical service in a Cloud computing environment; expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native environments.
