Overview
We are seeking a self-motivated Junior–Mid Level UX/UI Designer to join our San Diego team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid understanding of UX/UI fundamentals, hands-on design experience, and a strong desire to grow. You will work across mobile apps and connected devices, helping shape user flows, interfaces, and prototypes while collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and senior designers.
Responsibilities
Collaboration & Communication:
Partner with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to define and deliver intuitive user experiences across devices. Facilitate workshops and present design rationale clearly.
User Experience:
Create user flows, prototypes, high-fidelity wireframes, and final design assets.
Design Systems:
Contribute to and refine design systems and UI libraries for consistency and scalability.
Research & Testing:
Support user research, facilitate usability tests, and incorporate insights into design decisions. Advocate for accessible and inclusive design.
Quality Assurance:
Test our products and apps to ensure designs meet UX/UI specifications.
Skills / Requirements
Portfolio demonstrating UX process, problem-solving, product thinking, and UI design execution.
Strong proficiency in industry-standard design tools for user flows, prototyping, component libraries, and developer handoff (i.e. Figma, Figjam, Figma Make, Protopie, Adobe AfterEffects, etc.).
Self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills (visual, verbal, and written).
Ability to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
Experience contributing to or working within a design system and contributing to its evolution.
Curiosity and willingness to learn new subjects (including golf).
Team-oriented and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Experience conducting usability testing and analyzing results.
Familiarity with mobile/web analytics to inform design decisions.
Creative, out-of-the-box problem solving.
Experience with project management tools (Jira, Confluence, Notion, Linear).
Education & Experience
1–3+ years experience designing digital products (i.e. mobile apps) for large user bases.
A degree in Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Psychology, or related field OR equivalent work experience (internships or project-based work welcome).
What Success Looks Like
By 90 days: Familiar with our products, processes, and team; actively contributing to projects with quality UX/UI deliverables.
By 120 days: Taking ownership of assigned tasks, delivering quality work on time, and becoming a trusted contributor in the design and product development process.
