Overview
Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based server environments for various applications and services.
Responsibilities
Deploy, configure, and manage Linux operating systems, including CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu, and other distributions.
Create and manage automation scripts for server builds, installations, and configurations (using tools like Ansible).
Troubleshoot and resolve Linux server issues related to hardware, software, and performance.
Work with cross-functional teams to design scalable, high-performance server infrastructures.
Configure and optimize server performance for memory, CPU, and disk usage.
Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to deploy applications on Linux servers.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for all server build processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
Strong experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or others).
Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation.
Hands-on experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware).
Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.).
Knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and firewalls.
Good understanding of security principles and experience securing Linux servers.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong customer service and communications skills, both oral and written with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Qualifications
Experience: 5-8 Years
Minimum compensation range: $60,000 to $135,000 (varies by location and experience)
