We believe that relational poverty is poverty — no one should go through homelessness alone, and no one should feel helpless on this issue. Position Summary The Manager of Communications will be responsible for managing and executing communication projects that advance Miracle Messages’ mission. This role will focus on the implementation and coordination of internal and external communications, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on brand, and with measurable impact. Working closely with leadership, program staff, and volunteers, the Manager will turn communication strategies into clear, actionable plans and deliverables. Key Responsibilities Project Management & Implementation Translate communication strategies into detailed project plans with clear timelines, deliverables, and responsibilities. Coordinate across teams and relevant stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and timely execution of communications. Track progress, troubleshoot challenges, and report on project status to leadership. Maintain a shared communications calendar for campaigns, events, and content releases. Content Creation & Distribution Draft, edit, and publish written, visual, and multimedia content for various channels (social media, website, newsletters, email campaigns, print materials). Work with program participants, volunteers, and staff to gather human-centered stories while upholding ethical storytelling practices. Ensure consistent branding, tone, and messaging across all platforms. Support events (both virtual and in person) with marketing, registration, technology support, survey feedback during and following events, etc. Digital & Media Engagement Manage day-to-day operations of social media channels, email campaigns, and website updates. Monitor online engagement, respond to comments/messages, and proactively join relevant conversations. Assist in coordinating media outreach, including drafting press materials and supporting interview logistics. Internal Communications Support internal messaging and updates to ensure staff, board, and volunteers are informed and engaged. Develop communication tools and templates for internal use. Measurement & Reporting Track and analyze communication performance metrics (engagement, reach, conversions). Provide monthly summaries to leadership, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities. All other duties as assigned. Due to the changing nature of our growing organization, duties occasionally change to meet the needs of our population. We intend to serve as many people as possible, and flexibility is required as we learn new ways to accomplish this. Qualifications Commitment to Miracle Messages’ mission, values, and approach to homelessness. 3–5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or related roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector. Strong project management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Experience managing social media accounts, email marketing tools, and website CMS platforms. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mostly remote environment. Proficiency with digital communication tools (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress, Google Workspace). Salary range: $80,000 - $95,000* (depending on experience) Benefits: Medical, dental, and life insurance; matching 401k; paid vacation and sick time; flexible schedule; transportation allowance (if Bay Area based). * This is a San Francisco Bay Area salary range and will be adjusted depending on the residence of the candidate.
