Responsibilities
Lead and manage all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and systems implementations. Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; prepare and review consolidated financial statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and real estate accounting standards. Manage accounting for partnerships, joint ventures, and complex entity structures. Partner with asset management, property management, and development teams to analyze property performance, budgets, and capital expenditures. Drive process improvements, implement best practices, and enhance internal controls across accounting functions. Oversee external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting. Mentor, develop, and grow the accounting team, fostering a high-performing culture. Provide strategic insights and reporting to support executive leadership in decision-making. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred. 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in real estate or real estate investment firms. Deep knowledge of GAAP, real estate accounting principles, consolidations, and joint venture accounting. Experience with real estate ERP/accounting systems (Yardi, MRI, or similar). Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with multiple priorities.
