The Director of Client Advisory Services (CAS) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and driving the success of the CAS department, which includes the Client Advisory Services, bookkeeping, payroll, outsourced CFO teams. This role ensures that the department delivers exceptional client-focused services, achieves operational excellence, and contributes to the firm\'s overall strategic objectives. Responsibilities
Business Development: Lead marketing and commercial initiatives to drive growth of the CAS business through new client acquisition. Support reporting on client growth, both driven by client volume and periodic price increases. Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the department’s strategic plan in alignment with the organization’s goals. Set and communicate clear objectives for the CAS, bookkeeping, and payroll teams. Identify and implement opportunities to enhance service offerings and expand client relationships. Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the CAS, bookkeeping, and payroll teams to ensure efficiency and quality of service delivery. Establish, monitor, and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices across the department. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop team members to foster a high-performing, collaborative culture. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff. Identify and support professional development opportunities for team members. Client Relationship Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients, offering strategic financial guidance. Oversee the onboarding and retention of clients, ensuring consistent delivery of high-value services. Monitor and manage the department’s budget, profitability, and financial performance. Collaborate with leadership to set pricing strategies and evaluate service profitability. Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure departmental success. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred 7+ years of experience in client advisory services, public accounting, or related fields 3+ years in a leadership role (i.e., Manager-level or higher) Proven expertise in managing and scaling a CAS business, including bookkeeping, payroll, and outsourced CFO services (must-have) Strong understanding of financial systems, reporting, and compliance standards Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Proficiency in accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, payroll systems) What’s in it for you?
