Overview
In this role, you will oversee part production and materials throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they meet all engineering, regulatory, and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities
Conduct and approve final inspections of parts, verifying compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer contracts. Review and validate certifications and traceability records for accuracy and completeness. Partner with inspectors to perform detailed dimensional and visual checks of critical components. Prepare and document First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 and customer-specific requirements. Manage documentation and release of Certificates of Conformance (C of C). Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality representatives during audits, inspections, and buyoffs. Investigate and document nonconformances (NCRs), support root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, DoD, and customer quality standards. Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and production teams to uphold quality standards. Interpret and assess customer requirements as they relate to final QA deliverables. Maintain electronic filing systems for quality documentation. Adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and ITAR compliance requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned. Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and manage diverse workloads independently. Proficiency with inspection tools and methods (CMM, laser tracker, gauges, and hand tools). In-depth knowledge of material traceability, certifications, and configuration management. Strong decision-making and communication skills, with the ability to represent Quality in customer-facing settings. Familiarity with CAD viewing software (e.g., Enovia or equivalent). Experience & Education
Previous experience in inspection, buyoff authority, and certification of aerospace parts preferred. Solid understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and critical specifications. Hands-on experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, and DoD quality standards. High School Diploma or equivalent required; Engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred. Seniority level
