Overview Actor roles at Six Flags (The Great Escape Resort) for the attraction/Entertainment department. Safely scare guests while maintaining the setting and atmosphere of the attraction, wear and maintain costumes and makeup, and interact with guests in character during shifts. Roles may require rotating through gatekeeping/front of house positions and serving as an usher for entertainment venues. Pay rate: $15.50/hr. Pay range: $18.00 - $20.00/hr for specialty performers (e.g., juggling, acrobatics).

Responsibilities

Safely scare guests while maintaining the setting and atmosphere of the zone of attraction.

Wear and maintain costumes, stage makeup/prosthetics for extended periods, and use assigned props appropriately.

Maintain cleanliness and safety of attraction, zone, or performance venue.

Energetically interact with guests and stay in character for the duration of the shift.

Rotate in gatekeeping/front-of-house positions to manage guest throughput at attractions.

Memorize necessary/assigned dialogue, safety spiels, emergency exit plans, safety operating procedures, and park guidelines.

Make appearances at special park functions or serve as an usher for entertainment venues as needed.

Comply with all company and safety guidelines as listed in the employee handbook.

Other duties as requested.

What You Will Need

Must be at least 16 years old.

If under 18, must obtain a Child Performer Permit by 9/15/25. Apply via the DOL: https://dol.ny.gov/information-child-performers

Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Available for training and/or rehearsals prior to Fright Fest.

Flexible schedule including weekends, late nights, and some weekday evenings.

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods.

Actors with experience in make-up and/or prosthetics encouraged to apply.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather, with lighting effects (strobe, fog, haze, etc.); be attentive and assertive in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to interact with guests individually and in groups of all ages.

Ability to stand and walk for long periods, climb stairs, bend, stoop, reach, twist, sit, and lift up to 40 lbs.

Must possess the mental and physical capacity to perform essential job duties and be a self-starter able to take direction.

Maintain all Great Escape policies and Department Safety Standards; comply with handbook guidelines.

Who You Are

Very outgoing and extroverted, professional and disciplined; comfortable with bold performance personas.

Comfortable wearing latex, silicone, and other forms of makeup and prosthetics.

Willing and able to follow directions and be agile to fit the role or placement assigned.

Availability Friday-Sunday gives you first priority for desired roles.
