Core Faculty Position in Residency Education at Albany Medical College
Albany Medical College/Albany Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program – Albany, NY
Compensation: $220,000.00 - $240,000.00 annually
Position The Department of Family & Community Medicine at Albany Medical College is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine Physician to join its faculty in an academic primary care practice, with a focus on resident and medical student education. The successful candidate will become part of an established community practice in upstate New York, based at Albany Family Medicine (Community Care Physicians). This position offers a wide range of clinical opportunities with privileges at both academic and community teaching hospitals.
Clinical and Educational Focus Our current faculty’s clinical expertise includes ambulatory primary care, geriatrics, sports medicine, outpatient procedures, inpatient medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine, newborn care, gender-affirming care, opioid use disorder treatment, women’s health (with or without obstetrics), abortion care, and point-of-care ultrasound. You will work alongside residents, pharmacists, and integrated behavioral health professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Education & Roles Education is a cornerstone of our department’s mission, with faculty roles spanning both undergraduate and graduate medical education. Our 6-6-6 residency program holds ACGME accreditation with osteopathic recognition, and we offer opportunities in medical education. There are Core Faculty roles with medical education responsibilities at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher (rank commensurate with experience) at Albany Medical College.
Responsibilities
Mentor and teach across the spectrum of learners, from medical students to residents and fellows.
Engage in curriculum development, clinical instruction, and scholarly activities.
