Overview
Assistant Director Project Management (OMNY) — The Assistant Director of Project Management is responsible for managing OMNY services related project and task delivery within the OMNY Service business unit in the MTA Construction and Development (C&D) Delivery Department. This position ensures project delivery is safe, efficient, on schedule, within budget, and compliant with project documents, contractual requirements, and applicable policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines. Work location: 2 Broadway. Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM or as required (7.5 hours per day). Telework: one day per week. New hires may apply 30 days after their effective date of hire. Salary range: $113,944 to $148,265. Deadline: Open Until Filled. Responsibilities
Manage and mentor staff to deliver complex OMNY services projects. Coordinate project activities through close-out and monitor performance against baselines. Identify issues and risks, ensure timely resolution and mitigation; present solutions to senior management. Coordinate with OMNY services team, OMNY Delivery project team, C&D staff, contractors, consultants, and agency personnel to support project delivery. Ensure adherence to requirements, standards, codes, regulations, and safety and quality expectations. Develop and monitor project plans, quality plans, and work plans; coordinate with vendor services staff. Manage project documentation for quality, completeness, and accuracy; oversee progress against scope, schedule, and budget. Collaborate with Finance, Development and Contracts across project life cycle, including scope, design criteria, procurement, bids/proposals, change orders, and contractor evaluations. Review and approve contracts invoices and charges; manage expenditures alignment with procedures. Maintain comprehensive project document control and retention; prepare reports, presentations, and studies; coordinate audit/inquiry responses for MTA and external bodies. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, Payments, or related field. Minimum eight (8) years of related experience. Minimum four (4) years in management of complex programs/projects or supervisory role in a large, multi-faceted organization. PMP and CCM certifications preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to perform in a high-profile, high-pressure environment; focus on delivering results and continuous improvement. Proven leadership as a change agent; strong problem-solving, listening, teamwork, and prioritization skills. Experience with audits, dashboards, operating budgets, KPIs, reports, SAP, and SQL SMEs desired. Proficient computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle) and strong business administration skills (presentations, reports, time management). Other Information
