WIT Recruiting, San Francisco, California, United States, 94199
Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated FPGA Design Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced digital systems. In this role, you will own the design and verification of FPGA-based solutions, from architecture and RTL coding through integration and testing. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, customer-focused features that push the limits of digital design and embedded systems.
Key Responsibilities
Feature Development: Define, implement, and validate new functionality across the FPGA stack, ensuring robust performance and scalability.
Core FPGA Design: Work on RTL design, simulation, synthesis, timing closure, and high-speed digital logic, including DSP algorithm implementation and verification.
System Integration: Partner with embedded software, ASIC/FPGA engineers, and system architects to develop seamless interfaces and end-to-end solutions.
Testing & Debugging: Perform board bring-up, troubleshoot hardware issues, and use lab tools to validate and refine designs.
Customer Impact: Integrate customer feedback into FPGA features, ensuring functionality aligns with real-world applications and performance needs.
Automation & Efficiency: Create scripts and workflows to optimize repetitive tasks, improving reliability and engineering velocity.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
5+ years of FPGA development experience, including HDL coding, simulation, testbench creation, synthesis, and timing closure.
Expertise in Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL for RTL design.
Proficiency in C or C++ for embedded development and integration.
Hands-on experience with Xilinx or Intel FPGA toolchains.
Strong background in embedded systems using FPGA-based SoCs such as Xilinx Zynq or Intel Arria.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-level synthesis (HLS) and tools such as Vivado or Vitis.
Background in DSP design and algorithm development.
Knowledge of advanced verification methodologies, including UVM.
Strong familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
Experienced Linux user with scripting expertise in Python, TCL, or Bash.
Exposure to industrial safety systems and functional safety development processes.
This role offers the opportunity to design FPGA systems that directly influence high-impact products while working alongside a team of talented engineers. If you thrive on solving complex design challenges and want to contribute to cutting-edge hardware systems, we’d love to connect with you.
