Full Stack SQL DBA / Programmer

to support the

Dept. of State IDEA

This influential role demands mastery in database architecture, dimensional data modeling, SQL, and database programming. The ideal candidate brings a strong grasp of enterprise data management policies, Cloud, and DevOps principles, coupled with the exceptional communication skills required to lead information discovery sessions and map complex technical requirements in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. Your impact will be immediate: you will oversee the full lifecycle management of massive datasets, serving as the ultimate guardian of data quality, security, integrity, and availability. You will take ownership of database tuning and performance optimization, proactively identifying and implementing improvements to mission-critical systems. This role includes a vital leadership component, requiring you to mentor and guide a team in transforming complex data into meaningful business intelligence. Be prepared to provide comprehensive 24x7 support while adhering to an onsite core hours requirement. Responsibilities

Create, modify, and maintain large datasets. Ensure data delivery, quality, and security are tightly maintained and implemented. Apply leading-edge principles to ensure data integrity, availability, and security. Implement database tuning and performance optimization. Mentor and guide a team to turn data into meaningful information. Identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in mission-critical databases. 24x7 Support. Onsite requirement for core hours. Requirements

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field; Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred. 5-7+ years of experience in database engineering. Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required. Knowledge of ETL, SQL, MS Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with enterprise data management policies, processes, and procedures. Experience with database implementations, database language theory, database design, SQL, and database programming. Experience with dimensional data modeling and schema design for data warehouses. Experience facilitating information discovery sessions with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts. Ability to assist in mapping business and technical architecture to requirements. Experience working in a deadline-driven environment. Experience in Database Architecture and Design. Familiarity with Cloud and DevOps principles (AWS preferred, Azure secondary). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desired
