Overview
At Regions, the Software Engineer Manager oversees application development for a department or group within the company. This is a full-time, exempt position in an onsite setting, with potential travel and relocation considerations as noted below. Primary Responsibilities
Manages all aspects of system design, development, deployment, acquisition, and ongoing maintenance for all application systems within areas of responsibility Develops technology solutions that increase the efficiency of internal business functions, resolves business problems, and supports the pursuit of business opportunities for areas of responsibility Creates and refines operational processes and systems to ensure effective regulatory and audit compliance Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions Evaluates customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrates technical parameters, and assures compatibility of all interfaces Supports the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements through management processes This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. This position is incentive eligible. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field Six (6) years of relevant experience Experience as a team leader Preferences
Experience in a Technology role in banking or a financial services industry Skills And Competencies
Ability to manage multiple projects Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills Strong organizational skills Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. Technical Leadership Experience managing engineering teams (ideally in infrastructure, DevOps, or enterprise systems) Understanding of IT operations, incident management, and escalation workflows Audit & Legal Support Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR, HIPAA) Experience working with audit trails, data governance, and secure system design Ability to translate legal/audit requirements into technical solutions Support Engineering Background in Level 2/Level 3 support Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira), root cause analysis, and knowledge base creation Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, applications, and integrations Skills & Tools preferences
Systems Engineering or DevOps background Familiarity with SIEM tools, log aggregation, and monitoring platforms (Splunk, Datadog, etc.) Experience with automation (e.g., scripting in Python, PowerShell) Understanding of enterprise architecture and change management Strong communicator who can bridge technical and non-technical teams Experience building teams from scratch — hiring, mentoring, and structuring Comfortable working in a cross-functional environment with legal, audit, and operations Position Type

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions.
