Overview

Serena & Lily is seeking an Assistant Designer to join our tight knit Design Team at our Sausalito Headquarters. This role supports textile development from concept to production with a focus on quality, accuracy, and on-time execution. The position reports to the Senior Designer and requires in-person collaboration. Responsibilities

Support the development of all textile categories. Create design specifications for seasonal collections across products including bedding, bath, beach, and other soft goods. Produce scaled renderings in Photoshop for visual presentations. Translate creative concepts into precise, technically accurate specifications. Develop layouts and adapt original artwork to suit textile product requirements. Build and maintain BOMs and technical specifications in Backbone PLM. Partner with factories and agents to ensure product quality and consistency throughout the development cycle. Review lab dips, strike-offs, and development samples with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy against specs and cohesion with existing product lines. Manage product development submissions and maintain fabric libraries. Assist with seasonal assortment reviews and presentation setups. Identify opportunities for innovation in production techniques, materials, and design processes. Research new ideas, materials, and trims to support seasonal concepts. Monitor market trends and competitive activity to inform product direction. Stay organized and up to date with calendar deadlines and milestone changes. Qualifications

BFA in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related field. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Detail oriented with the ability to produce technically accurate specs and evaluate color. Quick learner and self-starter, able to seek resources to complete tasks. Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Problem solver with adaptability in a dynamic setting. Strong listening skills and ability to follow direction; seeks clarity when needed. Team player with the ability to build cross-functional relationships. Compensation & Benefits

Base pay range: $70,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr (actual pay based on skills and experience). Medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance options; 401k plan available. Paid time off: twenty-one days of PTO and seven paid holidays in year one. Details
