Overview
Call for Proposal Development Consultants (Junior, Mid-Level, Senior) Based Remotely Search for Common Ground (Search) is establishing a roster of vetted Proposal Development Consultants to provide short-term proposal development services. Consultants will work with Search’s Business Development team and regional program staff on a remote basis, with travel possible for certain opportunities. Being placed on the roster does not guarantee funding or a consultancy, but enables Search to draw on qualified consultants as needed. Responsibilities
Lead or support individual proposal development and writing processes for Search for Common Ground. Perform in-depth research and literature reviews; coordinate with Country Office, Regional Team, and Business Development to develop and refine proposal content and attachments. Ensure proposals comply with donor standards and requirements. Participate in or lead capture, design, and partnerships meetings; draft and finalize proposals. Travel to a Search country office for specific opportunities if required. Essential Qualifications
Minimum requirements for all levels: Bachelor’s degree in international relations, development, conflict resolution, nonprofit management, or a related field Proven experience leading successful proposals for development and/or foreign policy donors (Europe, UK, US), multilateral, foreign government, foundations, or corporations Strong knowledge of donor rules, regulations, and templates Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines while coordinating proposal processes Excellent written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, persuasive proposals Fluency in English and/or French at native-speaker level Highly organized with excellent attention to detail Knowledge of peacebuilding and conflict transformation programming Computer literacy including Microsoft Office, Google applications, and internet research skills Senior-level (Senior) requirements: 10+ years of experience writing winning proposals and leading capture, design, and oversight of a proposal process; track record of winning complex projects with awards over $5 million. Mid-level requirements: 5–10 years of experience; track record of winning complex projects over $1 million. Junior-level requirements: 2–5 years of experience; track record of winning smaller projects over $250,000. Desirable
Experience leading proposals focused on peacebuilding or conflict issues Experience developing proposal partnerships/consortia Familiarity with Search for Common Ground programming and systems Familiarity with international development priorities Ability to travel to support proposal design French and/or Arabic language skills may be desirable for some donors Salary
