Analytics Innovation Team – Senior Consultant, Data Science at Altman Solon. Our Analytics Innovation Team ("AI Team") is a data science and analytics technology group focused on developing a suite of advanced analytics products and supporting business strategy consulting teams to meet evolving client needs. Duties and Responsibilities

Apply state-of-the-art algorithms relying on knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, and optimization techniques to develop solutions and/or improve the performance of existing solutions for clients. Build, evaluate and optimize models which incorporate machine learning and artificial intelligence including traditional and generative AI. Collaborate with internal project teams and external clients to understand business and insight goals, formulate hypotheses, and identify relevant KPIs and diagnostics to pursue. Perform queries on data to discern data anomalies and develop quality audits to ensure the accuracy of statistical models prior to delivery to clients. Prepare and present compelling analytical presentations and effectively communicate complex concepts to clients. Collaborate with project teams to formulate hypotheses, prepare data, build models, and visualize results to effectively link the data insights to client business questions. Provide direct supervision and guidance to junior staff. Qualifications

The Senior Consultant, Data Science role is a mid-level position for applicants with a passion for working with large data sets and statistical models. We seek specialists with strong problem solving skills and a track record of achieving results, as well as a desire for the personal impact that can only be found within a boutique organization. Candidates should have the following qualifications: Required

Experience with applying statistics and data science tools on large datasets. Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms, including neural networks/deep learning, SVM, decision trees (bagging, random forests, boosting), clustering, regression, and dimensionality reduction techniques. Experience with delivering solutions using LLMs including embedding, RAG, prompt engineering including (DSPpy) Fine Tuning for LLMs and SLMs. Experience with Python and/or R machine learning libraries. Extensive experience with data preparation (normalization, scaling, etc.) for modelling. SQL mastery, including techniques for writing efficient code over large datasets. Ability to leverage critical data-driven thinking and enthusiasm for translating data into actionable insight to generate consistently accurate and useful analysis and models. BALANCES desire for quantitative rigor with realities of inconsistent business data. Attention to detail and time management delivering high quality work while meeting deadlines. Ability to excel as an individual contributor as well as communicate effectively with project teams. 2-4 years of experience specializing in data science and machine learning or comparable work experience. Preferred

Experience working with GCP, AWS, Azure or other cloud platforms. Experience using a distributed compute solution such as Spark. Deep knowledge of supervised vs. unsupervised learning algorithms, including neural networks/deep learning, SVM, decision trees (bagging, random forests, boosting), clustering, regression, and dimensionality reduction techniques. Experience with delivering solutions using LLMs including embedding, RAG, prompt engineering including (DSPpy) Fine Tuning for LLMs and SLMs. Expert at model training approaches, hyperparameter tuning, tuning learning rates, and model evaluation approaches. Experience in mathematical modeling and optimization using tools that include linear, mixed-integer, and constraint programming. 3 years of experience in predictive analytics using statistical modeling techniques to conduct forecasting and other predictive modeling services using R, Python, Scala, and/or Spark. 1-3 years of experience in data science in a consulting environment. Education

Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, Math) or related degree program Seniority level
