Senior Manager, Communications Engineering GEICO is seeking an experienced Senior Manager with a passion for building high-performance, low-latency communications platforms and applications. You will lead a team of engineers focused on delivering enterprise-wide solutions that operate in a highly performant and efficient way and drive our insurance business transformation by redefining customer experiences. Position Description

The Communications Engineering department creates high-value, low-friction interactions for customers and partners. We are modernizing services and architecture across AWS, with emphasis on leveraging data and automation to transform experiences and drive efficiency. A Senior Manager leads strategy and execution of a technical roadmap to increase velocity and unlock new engineering capabilities. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise to improve application performance, capacity benchmarking, availability, reliability, and cloud infrastructure evolution. Position Responsibilities

Work with the Director to address project dependencies, negotiate and estimate delivery dates for milestones, and deliver projects on time Identify and raise project risks, and present detailed, implementable solutions or alternatives Understand how requirements and design choices impact systems across multiple areas Report on team progress for projects and key metrics, and present ideas to improve product or project delivery Initiate and support performance management for team members (mentoring, performance coaching, reviews, etc.) Cultivate a culture that motivates performers to achieve higher levels of excellence Foster a growth mindset and coach others to be receptive to feedback Identify skill gaps that risk future deliverables and craft remediation plans Craft and deliver strategic arguments to drive projects that improve processes, cost leadership, and customer experience Manage the team budget and report results regularly Contribute to team planning and surface associate-level proposals Collaborate with product teams to address performance and resiliency concerns and translate issues into sustainable strategies Influence product owners to ship quality products faster Advance long-term solutions while addressing high-priority tech debt efficiently Share best practices and improve processes across teams Qualifications

Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and core computer science concepts Basic UI/UX, API, and prototype design knowledge Fluency with Python, Java, Go, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, XML, JSON, and RESTful Web Services Knowledge of object-oriented development, design patterns, microservices, and frontend/backend unit testing Cloud computing knowledge (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) Ability to learn new technical concepts quickly and adapt to new technologies Strong Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, GCP, Azure) Experience leading data modeling and architecture for analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives Proficiency with MS Office tools and collaboration platforms (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Zoom, Slack) Project management proficiency, agile frameworks, and work item tools (Jira, Azure DevOps) Experience with MS Project, Visio, and Excel Experience in scaled contact center platforms and services is desirable Experience with Azure Portal and monitoring/performance assessment tools Ability to construct and apply metrics to guide decisions and prioritize work Strong Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps understanding Cloud architecture, performance benchmarking, and capacity planning expertise Experience driving cultural change toward technical excellence, quality, and efficiency Experience growing technical leaders and teams Experience

8+ years of experience with customer communications platforms, services, and software 6+ years coding experience 5+ years in a large-scale, mission-critical environment 5+ years supervising personnel in a technical environment 5+ years of experience with one public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) – AWS preferred 2+ years of automated testing (Unit, Integration, End-to-End) Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience Location

Remote Annual Salary

$140,000.00 - $300,000.00 The above salary range is a general guideline. Final offer takes into account scope and responsibilities, experience, education, work location, and market considerations. GEICO may sponsor employment authorization for qualified applicants. GEICO Pledge
