The Senior Principal Engineer, Electrical will lead the development of creative electrical solutions to challenging problems associated with the design of monitoring and sensing products within the medication delivery portfolio. The successful candidate will possess strong technical capabilities, energy for product development, and a passion for their work and its impact on saving and sustaining lives. What You'll Be Doing
Define design requirements and hardware specifications based on customer or user requirements. Contribute to the development and documentation of electronic system architectures. Lead the creation of designs of analog and digital electronic circuit schematics for microcontroller based systems, meeting performance objectives. Analyze circuits using calculation and simulation methods to assess performance limits, effects of environmental and load stresses, and timing interfaces to ensure consistent performance in safety critical applications. Ensure successful integration of electrical design with mechanical and software elements of the system. Develops, modify, and approve electrical design documentation, specifications and drawings. Define appropriate test methods to verify desigsn meet their performance requirements. Direct the layout of circuit assemblies to meet emissions and immunity performance requirements and design for manufacturability guidelines. Transition products to manufacturing and ensures robust products and manufacturing processes. Develops and maintains an effective and corroborative working relationship with internal and external development partners. Resolve competing constraints between interrelated functions (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, regulatory, marketing, etc.) required to deliver the product to market. Implements data acquisition and analysis techniques to characterize design performance. Execute protocols and testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of the design(s). Lead the troubleshooting and problem solving efforts related to electrical aspects of devices and associated systems. Create and communicates design/test plans, tasks, work and status. What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics or related Engineering and 10+ years of experience. A demonstrated track record in electromechanical hardware development, preferably medical devices or other regulated products. Knowledge and experience in design of embedded microcontroller based electronics devices, including digital and analog design. Experience designing and testing electronic devices to meet electromagnetic immunity and emissions requirements. Knowledge and experience using CAD systems for printed circuit board schematic design and layout (Altium Designer, preferred) and data acquisition software (LabVIEW). $120,000 to $165,000
and also includes an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
