Assistant Director, Performance Nutrition . Position Summary The Performance Dietitian or Assistant Director of Performance Nutrition will work as an integral part of the Cal Performance Nutrition department to provide nutrition programming, education, and counseling to Cal’s diverse student-athlete population. The role collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to manage high-risk athletes and coordinate higher levels of care as needed, adhering to university, NCAA, and ACC policies, protocols, rules, and regulations. Application Review Date The First Review Date for this job is: 08/14/2025. Responsibilities Applies advanced concepts to conduct wide-ranging needs analysis for health care programs. Makes recommendations on health promotion and education programs to meet diverse campus/athletics needs. Plans team nutritional meals and delivers team/group-based educational programming. Works closely with coaches and medical staff in design and implementation. Represents the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at UHS and/or across campus for nutritional needs. Initiates and designs revisions to courses and program content. Assesses the effectiveness of promotion and education of healthcare programs and makes broad-impact recommendations. Develops outreach programs and collaborates with community leaders and the Office of the President. May lead a team of health education professionals. Provides nutritional counseling and education services to student-athletes for medical and performance nutrition needs. Collaborates with Staff and Head Athletic Trainer, Strength and Conditioning Staff, Coaches/Staff and Team Physicians. Required Qualifications Thorough knowledge of health promotion and education. Experience in design and delivery of related programs. Skills in development and delivery of health education programs and services. Effective interpersonal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Advanced knowledge of medical and sport performance nutrition. Credentials to design and deliver health promotion and education programs and services. Ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the Pacific-12 Conference, NCAA, and related bodies; commitment to compliance. Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training. Salary & Benefits Budgeted annual salary range:
