Overview
Business Development Director - Advanced Manufacturing at BE&K Building Group. Location: Raleigh, NC or Charleston, SC (remote option may be considered for the right candidate). Responsibilities
Lead and support national growth opportunities in the Advanced Manufacturing market with a heavy focus on the Southeastern United States. Communicate regularly with the VP, Client Growth and Strategy, Regional Office leadership, other Business Development Leads, and Preconstruction. Conduct research to identify target companies/organizations within advanced manufacturing. Contact, qualify and set appointments with targets via telephone and electronic means. Visit qualified targets and/or arrange for personal sales calls by BE&K personnel. Provide targets with BE&K marketing materials and responses to specific interests identified by targets. Prepare qualifications statements and assist in preparing responses to proposals in collaboration with the marketing department. Develop and maintain relationships with local and national civic, professional, and economic organizations that are sources of prospects. Effectively utilize the company’s client relationship management system. Develop and manage a public relations program for marketing and customer outreach in the advanced manufacturing market. Represent BE&K at trade shows, conventions, and professional meetings. Attend regular sales meetings with the leadership team to maintain accountability; assist with coordinating business development activity and setting priorities against the annual sales plan. Collaborate with other business units to maximize companywide sales and support a team-oriented environment. Attract and recruit high-caliber talent. Qualifications
Four-year college degree or equivalent experience. 10 years of business development experience, with at least 4 years in the construction industry (General Contractor, Construction Manager, Design/Build, etc.) preferred. Experience in Industrial and Advanced Manufacturing markets; experience with Design-Build, CM at Risk, and Qualifications-Based selection methods preferred. Willingness to travel. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to persuade at all levels of an organization and foster a collaborative environment. Goal-oriented: self-starter with the ability to set and achieve goals. Strong organizational ability: plan, prioritize, organize, and monitor activities and projects; able to work well in a team environment. Position may be housed at regional offices or HQ; remote option may be considered for the right candidate. Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods. Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods. Occasionally able to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift and carry office supplies and equipment up to 20 pounds. Equal Employment Opportunity
