PC OEM Technology Partnerships Product Manager, Staff Manager / Director at Qualcomm General Summary
Directs a comprehensive PC OEM Technology Partnerships strategy from early technology discussions, roadmap mapping and feature definition through planning, execution and end of life. Functions as a central resource for establishing technology vision with OEM teams, influence internal IP features, product alignment and marketing messaging. Formulates and executes long-term strategies based on multiple segment needs. Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends. Directs those involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific design or group of designs. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of technology planning lifecycle including early concepts, modifications, upgrades, and maintenance of the product or product line. Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of enabling new technology and marketing messaging for PCs 3+ years of working in a large matrixed organization 5+ years of working with PC OEMs 2+ years of negotiating 3rd party business agreements Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Identifies opportunities to showcase Qualcomm’s PC technology on form-factor designs based on market, customer, technology, and ecosystem analyses; informs design conversations. Leads team collaboration in creating new use cases and validates cases for development of complex features aligned with business direction. Develops plans for marketing and demos through technical marketing opportunities such as conferences, congresses, and direct customer contact; drives product launch efforts. Prepares and delivers highly complex technical presentations describing the technology vision and Qualcomm PC product value proposition to customers. Translates customer feedback and external environment into potential changes for the technology planning strategy and communicates this to senior leaders. Completes product development and definition activities for new or highly complex owned products, including cost determination and interaction with the sales team to generate forecasts. Ensures the team stays up to date on competitors and technology advances; leads development and design innovation of new products to articulate differentiation and identify trends. Maintains regular communication with leadership to ensure cross-functional understanding of product plans for a product line. Ensures cross-functional collaboration by meeting agreed KPIs and specifications for new, complex products upon delivery by engineering. Collaborates with stakeholders and sponsors to develop product goals (performance, cost, timeline, schedules), discuss feasibility, and facilitate cross-functional decision making for owned products. Using verbal and written communication to convey complex information to diverse audiences; may require negotiation and influence with high-level constituents. Moderate influence over key organizational decisions; consulted by senior leadership for input on key decisions. Completing multi-step tasks requiring multiple cognitive abilities and memory. Exercising creativity to innovate new ideas and develop products/processes without established objectives. Using deductive and inductive problem solving with advanced data analysis. Occasionally participates in strategic planning within own area affecting immediate operations. Minimum Qualifications
