Staff Research Scientist role at Epsilon. As a Staff Research Scientist in our Decision Sciences R&D organization, you will be responsible for researching and building optimization, control theory, simulation, and machine learning applications to extend Epsilon Digital’s ad personalization platform. What You’ll Do

Manage projects end-to-end from early-stage research through development, in consultation with stakeholders Lead end-to-end research and implementation of R&D projects with significant business impact Develop a thorough understanding of business use cases relevant to technical projects Develop an understanding of Epsilon’s CORE Personalization Platform and proprietary datasets Use your optimization, control theory, simulation, or machine learning expertise to research and recommend approaches to solving technology and business problems Design, implement, and validate solutions in Apache Hive and Spark using Python or Scala on large computing clusters Work with Engineering teams to integrate solutions into Epsilon’s platform Collaborate in the research and applications projects as part of a team What You’ll Achieve

Epsilon’s CORE Personalization Platform analyzes anonymized data at Internet scale and evaluates more than one trillion advertising opportunities per month in real-time. You will work on real-world problems as part of our collaborative Decision Sciences Research & Development team, applying optimization, control theory, simulation, or machine learning to model, develop, and deploy tools and analyses for new and existing products. Who You Are

A Ph.D. in computer science, operations research, electrical engineering, statistics, mathematics, physics, economics, or a related field 1 to 2+ years of industry experience post-PhD Research experience in optimization, control theory, machine learning, or simulation Fluency in programming Experience working with large data sets Strong understanding of modeling and statistical techniques Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment Additional desirable but not required skills include: distributed computing (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), Python, SQL, or Scala, and experience modeling or analyzing consumer behavior, market dynamics, or auctions Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary: $168,500 - $178,997. Actual compensation within the range depends on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws. The salary range is subject to change. Benefits
