Overview
Fresh & Ready Foods is a member of Canteen. This position is eligible for an Employee Referral Bonus. Salary: $58,240 - $62,400 / year. Supervise the daily operations of fleet drivers involved in shipping for Fresh & Ready Foods. Collaborate with team members, managers, and directors to ensure timely and efficient transportation and delivery of food products using company vehicles. Maintain cleanliness of delivery trucks, oversee maintenance, and enforce safety and compliance measures. Ensure all deliveries meet high standards of quality, quantity, and sanitation, following directives from management. Comply with all company policies and federal/state regulations. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to meet daily, weekly, and monthly delivery targets. Strive to achieve optimal customer satisfaction through reliable and professional service. Pre-Departure Responsibilities:
Ensure all drivers arrive on time and are in proper uniform with a professional appearance. Confirm outbound orders are properly staged in clearly grouped sections to prevent items from being left behind. Verify each driver is assigned the correct truck for their route, and that each truck has a full tank of fuel. Ensure all delivery trucks and food products meet required temperature standards before departure. Confirm each driver is equipped with a temperature gun and a probe thermometer. Oversight & Reporting:
Monitor driver performance and document issues including errors, repeated mistakes, or behavioral concerns. Step in and run delivery routes as needed, especially high-priority routes or in the event of call outs. Respond to transportation requests and delivery concerns with urgency. Follow department protocols using dispatch systems appropriately. Provide outstanding customer service when communicating with customers. Complete necessary logs and reports for management review. Maintain clean and safe vehicles for delivering products. Resolve or report vehicle, building, security, or safety issues to management. Perform other duties as assigned, including local repair and maintenance needs. Additional Responsibilities:
Ensure drivers comply with traffic laws and practice safe driving. Enforce company policies and procedures on- and off-site, with a focus on driver safety. Report any driver injuries to management, Safety and HR and follow appropriate protocols. Collaborate with department heads, managers, and supervisors as needed. Ensure drivers adhere to company policies for customer deliveries. Enforce policy prohibiting storage of delivered food in unrefrigerated areas. Demonstrate professionalism in communication and maintain strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Remain calm when handling unexpected challenges or time-sensitive issues. Act as authorized liaison for airport delivery and security needs; train drivers on airport delivery protocols and ensure compliance. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or director.
