Board Certified Neurologist Physician Advisor, Disability Peer Review at
Dane Street . This telework opportunity provides supplemental income for physicians acting as independent contractors (1099) on a per-case basis. Responsibilities
On a contract basis, accept cases as schedule permits, review all medical records, and address each question using client-specific criteria or other nationally recognized evidence-based criteria to opine on disability status. Provide a clear, concise rationale for the determination with adequate supporting documentation to substantiate the decision. Identify and apply current criteria and resources (national, state, and professional guidelines; peer-reviewed literature) that support sound, objective decisions; refrain from using case studies or cohorts to make decisions. Deliver a report and copies of any criteria used in the review promptly. Return cases on or before the due date and time specified. Conduct peer-to-peer calls or attempts as required by client protocol to obtain information not included in medical records and to obtain necessary clarification. Perform other duties as assigned, including addressing clarifications, providing addenda with additional compensation, and addressing potential quality assurance, complaints, or regulatory issues. Board certification required; active clinical practice required. Qualifications
Board-certified neurologist with active medical license. Experience performing disability peer reviews or medical record reviews preferred. Ability to review records, apply criteria, and issue independent, professional opinions. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to meet deadlines. Familiarity with national/state guidelines and peer-reviewed literature related to disability determinations. Benefits
