Diagnostic Radiology Technologist - Autumn Road Clinic at UAMS - University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Responsibilities
Positions and sets up imaging machines (e.g., x-ray, fluoroscopy) to acquire diagnostic-quality images according to exam specifications and safety protocols. Escorts patients to imaging rooms, explains procedures clearly, assists with positioning, and ensures patient comfort, safety, and cooperation during imaging. Ensures correct radiographic exams are performed, minimizes repeats, and maintains high image quality for accurate medical interpretation. Performs portable X‑rays, mobile units, fluoroscopy, surgical settings, emergency department imaging, and other modalities depending on staffing needs. Communicates effectively with patients, family members, referring physicians, clinical staff, and clerical staff; answers inbound calls or coordinates with hospital floors when required. Monitors equipment performance, reports malfunctions or safety concerns, and assists in coordinating regular maintenance to ensure daily operability. Reviews patient records, imports external images into the PACS system, alerts appropriate clinical staff, and ensures digital archiving is accurate. Assists in controlling patient flow, triages when needed, provides backup coverage for colleagues, helps move equipment, and completes additional duties assigned by supervisors. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Associates - Graduate of an approved Radiology program Registered or eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the State of Arkansas in Radiology Technology Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant preferred Additional Information
