Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Sign Drafter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will transform design concepts into precise technical drawings that guide our fabrication and installation teams. Your work will directly impact the quality and success of our signage projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed submittal and shop drawings for custom signage, including dimensional layouts, fabrication specs, and installation guides
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and fabricators to ensure drawings meet project requirements and production capabilities
• Revise drawings based on feedback and changes in scope or materials
• Maintain organized drawing files and documentation for each project
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, ADA standards, and permitting requirements
• Assist in developing templates and standards to improve drafting efficiency

Typical Project Examples

• Design and drafting of illuminated exterior building signs
• Creation of detailed shop drawings for ADA-compliant interior signage
• Development of installation diagrams for monument signs and pylon signs
• Technical drawings for wayfinding signage systems in hospitals and campuses
• Fabrication-ready files for vinyl graphics and dimensional letters
• Permit drawings for storefront signage in commercial developments

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Sign drafting, Signage experience a must, architectural, or fabrication environments
• Proficiency with CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, or similar design software is a plus
• Strong understanding of materials used in signage (e.g., aluminum, acrylic, vinyl, LED)
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and technical drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CorelDraw.
• Familiarity with fabrication processes such as CNC routing, laser cutting, and welding
• Knowledge of ADA signage standards and local permitting processes
