Are you a seasoned Distribution Engineering Project Manager ready to drive the modernization of power grids? We're looking for an entrepreneurial and client-focused leader in Houston, TX , to own the full project lifecycle, from initial concept to successful closeout, for critical distribution infrastructure projects. The Opportunity: Lead & Grow the Grid
You will manage, direct, and coordinate all aspects of distribution engineering projects within our South-Central Region. Your success will be measured by your ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the client's complete satisfaction, all while actively expanding our service offerings and client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full Lifecycle Ownership: Provide end-to-end management for distribution projects, covering routing/siting, permitting, planning, engineering, procurement, construction administration, and closeout.
- Client Relationship Architect: Serve as the primary point of contact with clients. You're expected to proactively leverage and create new client relationships , turning successful project completions into repeat business .
- Financial & Risk Control: Own the financial health of individual projects, including detailed, accurate cost forecasting, managing risk, controlling scope, and leading change management efforts.
- Business Development: Actively participate in direct marketing efforts, preparing proposals, assisting in presentations, and participating in contract negotiations to pursue new clients and expand market share.
- Team Leadership: Work closely with the project team to ensure high-quality deliverables and support the development of the Distribution team through hiring, training, and mentoring.
What You'll Bring
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive Distribution engineering experience , including 3 or more years managing engineering projects .
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or a related field (additional applicable experience may be substituted).
- Technical Expertise: Must have experience with the production of distribution design and construction documents and knowledge of the NESC code and other relevant industry standards.
- Business Acumen: Proven ability to successfully manage project P&L , develop business , and establish strong, lasting client relationships. Previous consulting experience is a plus.
- Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
