We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager (SPM) with extensive experience in electrical scopes of work within federal construction projects. The ideal candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex federal contracts, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, including USACE, NAVFAC, and other federal agency standards. This is a leadership position that requires strong technical knowledge, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to manage teams across multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all phases of electrical federal construction projects, from pre-construction through close-out.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for federal clients (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC, GSA), subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with federal contract requirements, including FAR, DFARS, EM 385-1-1, and quality control standards.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk management plans.
- Direct and coordinate subcontractor activities, material procurement, and manpower allocation.
- Work closely with field superintendents and site safety personnel to ensure site safety and quality.
- Review and approve submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoices, and progress payments.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting per government and company standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality control, and resolve any field issues.
- Mentor and supervise junior project managers, engineers, and support staff.
- Interface with company leadership on project strategy, performance, and financials.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of project management experience in the electrical construction industry.
- 5+ years managing federal construction projects (USACE, NAVFAC, VA, GSA, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge of federal procurement regulations, EM 385-1-1, and QC/Safety protocols.
- Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar projects and electrical systems (medium/high voltage, generators, switchgear, etc.).
- Proficient with Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6, and other construction management software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance, as required by project contracts.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP or CCM certification.
- OSHA 30 and USACE CQM-C certifications.
- Experience with design-build federal contracts.
- NICET, LEED, or other relevant technical certifications.
