About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365-all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world's top investors-including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock-and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About The Role

Rippling's core value is its ability to seamlessly connect traditionally siloed systems-from payroll to device management-automating workflows across the entire platform.

The Events Platform Team is transforming Rippling into a fully event-based architecture. We build and maintain the foundational platform that enables systems and customers to reliably emit, listen to, and act on customizable events, powering critical features like Workflow Triggers and Audit Logs.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be instrumental in delivering this vision. You will design and build highly scalable, reliable, and performant distributed systems that serve as the backbone for the Events Platform, ensuring a delightful experience for engineers building on our framework.

What You Will Do

Work closely with stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain a highly scalable and reliable system. Work closely with other engineers across the organization to drive adoption and enable teams to evolve existing products and quickly bring new products to market. Ship high-quality software incrementally and consistently. What You Will Need

5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer. Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages, such as Python or Golang. Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning. Experience building scalable, reliable, distributed, event-driven systems is preferred. Experience collaborating with product end-users to ensure software usability, accessibility, and performance.
