We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled
Med Surg/Telemetry RN
to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong post-surgical competencies, be comfortable with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, and be able to float to Med-Surg, ICU, and ED as needed. Key Responsibilities:
Perform patient assessments and monitor telemetry (remote cardiac monitoring). Manage complex post-surgical care and interventions. Administer medications including blood products, heparin, insulin, and PCA management. Provide colostomy care, feeding tube management, and wound care, including Wound Vac. Manage peripheral lines, PICC lines, and access ports safely. Perform IV starts and manage pre-/post-hemodialysis patient care. Provide respiratory care, including tracheostomy management, oral suctioning, HFNC, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks. Manage surgical drains and chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac). Implement isolation precautions effectively. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and document all care in the EMR. Float to Med Surg, ICU, and ED as needed for patient care support. Requirements: BLS (AHA) and NIH Stroke Scale certification
