Travel Nursing Job Details

Shift:

Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15)

Hours per Week:

36

Assignment Duration:

13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 2/2/2026)

On-Call:

2 shifts per 6-week schedule period

Weekend Requirement:

Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month

Orientation:

24 hours

Patient Ratios:

1:2 (labor), 1:8 (postpartum/couplets)

Estimated Weekly Salary:

$1880 - $2020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse and postpartum care

Previous travel nursing experience required

Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state (must be current at time of application)

Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, NIHSS

Experience with electronic charting systems (Cerner preferred)

Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Ability to float to other units as needed per facility policy

Must not have been permanent staff at this campus within the last 24 months

All certifications and licensure must be valid for at least 45 days after assignment start

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients, including high-risk antepartum cases

Perform triage of obstetrical patients and assist with high-risk deliveries

Circulate and recover C-sections, perform sterile vaginal exams, and manage IUPC placement/calibration

Administer medications such as anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy

Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) and follow isolation precautions/PPE protocols

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, etc.)

Participate in self-scheduling and comply with weekend and on-call requirements

Complete required orientation and annual training modules

Float to other nursing units as needed, adhering to facility and Joint Commission standards
