Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey

Minimum 2 years of recent travel nursing experience in large hospital Labor & Delivery units, specializing in high-risk pregnancies

Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)

Strong clinical assessment, patient care, and documentation skills

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments for mothers and newborns across all age groups

Deliver safe, competent, and compassionate nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients, including those with high-risk pregnancies

Demonstrate proficiency with emergency equipment, fetal monitoring, and obstetric procedures

Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including patient education and progress notes

Promote a positive, professional healthcare environment focused on patient and family satisfaction

Comply with National Patient Safety Goals and hospital protocols, including patient identification and safe transfer techniques

Individualize patient care based on procedures, diagnoses, and anesthesia types

Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, surgical procedures, and post-operative care

Support pre-admission testing and ensure timely completion of all required patient testing

Demonstrate accountability and prioritize patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment
