Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

• Multi-trauma step-down unit on 10th floor

• Patient ratio of 1:4 with charge nurse free of patients (estimated ratios, not guaranteed)

• 20-bed unit with highly acute patient population

• Required certification: BLS

• Preferred certification: ACLS

• Must have ability to manage chest tubes, trauma patients, trachs, and suction

• Work with ventilators, feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound vacs, specialty beds, suction equipment, and chest tubes

• Perform typical procedures including placing chest tubes and bedside bronchoscopies

• EMR system: Meditech

• Work with stable vented/trached patients in standard trauma unit setting

• Team-player personality preferred with ability to handle challenging cases

• Day shift staffing: 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, 3 techs

• Night shift staffing: 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, 2 techs

This Level 1 trauma center features a specialized multi-trauma step-down unit that provides care for highly complex and interesting patients. The facility is known for its excellent teamwork environment with motivated nursing staff, very supportive charge nurses, and wonderful physician support. The unit offers great tech support on both day and night shifts, creating a collaborative healthcare environment focused on providing exceptional patient care for trauma cases.
